Retrieving biosamples from GenPlates using the GenPunch

More specifically:
- Samples to retrieve are selected via GenConnect software ; an Excel list of biosamples to be processed can be exported from GenConnect.
- GenPlates can be manually retrieved from the Desktop Archive or the Personal Archive
- Using the black knobs on the sides of the GenPunch the stage is tightened to an angle appropriate for the user’s comfort.
- The tube holder is placed onto the grooved stage of the GenPunch. Each groove corresponds to a lettered row on the GenPlate. The tube holder is aligned with the row letter to be punched from the GenPlate.
- A microcentrifuge tube is then placed into the aluminum tube holder on the GenPunch. This tube holder is inscribed with the column numbers of the GenPlate. The microtube should be placed in the slot that matches the column number to be punched from the GenPlate.
- The previous steps are repeated until all desired elements are removed.
