Primary Responsibilities

  • Recommend, evaluate and manage new strategic business opportunities, initiatives, partnerships, alliances and/or joint ventures.
  • Provide leadership in the planning, designing, and implementation of strategic business objectives. 
  • Initiate relationships with leading researchers in the field as consultants, initiate and maintains positive, productive client relationships.
  • In conjunction with senior staff, plan and evaluate new business areas, customers, territories, etc.
  • Develop licensing objectives, policies and programs; initiate proposals, negotiations and presentations for the acquisition of licensing opportunities and technologies, as well as joint ventures and collaborative agreements in licensing opportunities. 
  • Directly manage all applicable licenses and intellectual property, as well as monitoring and managing contracts and relationships with Company partners.
  • Independently draft term sheets and implement negotiation strategy; negotiate terms and conditions of selected business transactions to ensure the company maximizes return.

Required Qualifications

  • 5-10 years relevant commercial experience, with 5 years solid Business Development focus in life science industry
  • Masters or above in Molecular Biology or similar field, MBA preferred.
  • Proven experience with strategic and collaborative negotiations.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with proven contract review experience.
