David Wellis

Dr. Wellis has more than 20 years of life science expertise in the areas of cell biology, neuroscience and genomics with 7 years experience in product commercialization in genomics. Prior to GenVault, Dr. Wellis held the position of Vice President, Functional Genomics at Axon Instruments, Inc. where he led the identification, specification, development, marketing and capture of a major share of the microarray scanning instrumentation and analysis software market. While at Axon, he formed agreements with companies such as Motorola, Amersham Life Sciences, Zyomyx, and SK Global.

Dr. Wellis holds a B.S. in biological sciences from U.C. Irvine, an M.S. and Ph.D. in cell biology from Emory University and received postdoctoral training at Tufts University Medical School and U.C. Berkeley. He has also nearly completed business training at the Leavey School of Business, Santa Clara University and U.C. Berkeley.
